As a Butterfly Partner, we make space for nature on our land

In collaboration with the Danish Society for Nature Conservation, we are an official Butterfly Partner, helping to promote biodiversity around our properties. Specifically, we have dedicated more than 25,000 m2 of outdoor areas to wildflower meadows and habitats for butterflies, bees and other insects.

What does it take to be a Butterfly Partner?

Conversion of at least 20% of open areas to insect-friendly

No fertilizing or spraying on partner sites

We finance and maintain the nature area ourselves

One-off grant to the Danish Society for Nature Conservation

Very nice. Really important.

With our portfolio of properties and homes, we have significant outdoor areas where it's natural for us to take the opportunity to ditch the short-cut lawns and instead convert them to wild nature. The flower meadows are also beautiful to look at and contribute to better habitats for insects and increased biodiversity. There is an urgent need to focus on biodiversity and bring back nature, especially in our own small country, which is one of the most cultivated in the world. More than half of Denmark's butterflies are disappearing and our wild bees are in trouble. Even small areas can become important stepping stones and habitats for insects, and with our signage on our properties, we hope that it will send a signal to more people in commercial areas to follow suit.

Rainwater reuse

Water is an important resource, and with many rainy days in Denmark, it makes sense to collect it around our properties. Utilizing this precious resource not only saves us money, but it's also sustainable as we conserve the earth's resources. We use the rainwater to water our flower pots and green areas during the driest months, and at the same time there is no lime in the rainwater, which makes it extremely useful for washing facades and the like if the birds have left a greeting on a window facade or similar. In the video, our Property Inspector, Søren Andersen, explains more about the collection and use of rainwater on our properties.
